Recently I read a report on Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) with 70+ residents in a certain community. Here is a link to the report.
Here are five key points from the report that resonated with me:
1) #ABCD should be seen as complementary but not a substitute for public service
2) more-than adequate time is needed in projects to build trust between project workers and locals
3) avoid cherry-picking: working with locals who are easier to engage
4) practitioners need to keep language simple - stories of practice as well as theory
5) project areas need to defined to be small, walk-able, local
What points resonated with others?
